WWF EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP
RAZOR RAMON (C.) w/t Syxx Vs. EDDIE GUERRERO w/t Chyna
We opened the show with the European title on the line. Razor Ramon and Eddie Guerrero put on
a good match which was a good mix of styles. Syxx and Chyna got involved in some out of ring
action after Syxx tried to shove Guerrero off the top rope.
Razor came close to winning with the Razors Edge but Guerrero was able to reverse it into a
backslide for a two count. Razor then got back up but Eddie capitalised with the Brainbuster
and then the Frog Splash to become the European Champion once again.
Eddie Guerrero pinned Razor Ramon with the Frog Splash in 0:11:41.
Rating: ** 1/2
(Eddie Guerrero won the WWF European Title.)
THE HARDY BOYZ w/t Lita Vs. T'n'T w/t Trish & Terri
Edge and Venis teamed up against the Hardy Boyz in an enthrawling tag team encounter. The
Hardys came out on fire for the fight and were able to hit several of there high spots on T'n'T.
But despite the Hardys early offence, T'n'T were able to fight back into control. Then Trish
tried to get involved, Lita pulled her off the ring apron but ended up being double teamed by
Trish and Terri. Lita was given a double suplex by the other two women on the floor.
Matt Hardy was furious with this and dived outside after the divas. This gave an advantage to
T'n'T who were able to use the distraction to catch Jeff Hardy off guard. Jeff shouted at Matt
to get back into the ring but was soon hit with the Downward Spiral from Edge. Val Venis went
up and hit the Money Shot on Jeff Hardy.
Matt Hardy came back into the ring to break up the pinfall but got taken down by Edge's Spear,
which gave T'n'T an important victory.
T'n'T defeated The Hardy Boyz when Venis pinned J. Hardy with the Money Spiral in 0:18:55.

**We cut backstage to Jonathan Coachman who is standing backstage with Chris Benoit who has
Shane McMahon at his side.**
COCH - Chris Benoit, later on tonight you'll be in fatal fourway action against Steve Austin,
Kane and of course the Rock.
BENO - Yes, the WRESTLEMANIA main event has always been packed with the best of the WWF talent
which is EXACTLY why I am in it.
I am the BEST technical wrestler the WWF has ever seen, so it just goes to show that
tonight the best will win and that's me.
SHNE - That's correct, you see, Benoit and I are an unstopable team.
If it was not for my plan to use Austin, who knows what kind of idiotic match we'd be
having tonight.
But my plan worked to perfection and Chris Benoit is going to walk in to that ring
against three of the top performers and walk out with the WWF Championship.
BENO - I'm betting that neither Kane, Steve Austin or the Rock will be able to PROVE US WRONG!
COCH - Thank you Shane McMahon and Chris Benoit, back to you at ringside.
STREET FIGHT
SABU Vs. CHRIS JERICHO
A brutal hardcore match took place next as Jericho and Sabu went at each other on the inside
and the outside of the ring. The battle even went to the backstage area as both men tried to
get an advantage. Chris Jericho threw Sabu into a Soda Machine at one point and the machine
fell on top of Sabu as well.
Sabu and Jericho's battle raged even further into the building and Y2J ended up being piledrove
onto the Merchandise Stand for a close two fall. The fight soon went back into the ring after
Jericho regained control after nailing Sabu with a lead pipe.
Y2J's control didn't last long though after he tried to hit Sabu with a chair. Sabu kicked the
chair into Jericho's face and snatched it from him. Sabu nailed Jericho with the chair and
knocked him to the mat. Sabu then held the chair in his hands and ran to the ropes, where he
hit the Asai Moonsault on Y2J for a three count.
Sabu pinned Chris Jericho after an Asai moonsault on a chair in 0:16:17.

WWF LIGHTWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP - BEST OF THREE FALLS
REY MISTERIO Jr. (C.) Vs. JUVENTUD GUERRERA
Rey Misterio's title was on the line in our second of five title matches here at WRESTLEMANIA.
As you'd expect between two cruiserweights of this calaber it was an outstanding match as both
men took to the air in this bout.
Juventud was able to stun the champion by getting the first pinfall. The fall came after Rey
Misterio Jr. tried a tombstone of all things on Juvy, Juvy was able to turn Rey over in the
position and nailed the Juvy Driver.
It wasn't long before we saw the second pinfall and this time it was Juventud who made an error,
Juvy went up top for a highrisk move but got cut off by Misterio. After a struggle on the top,
Rey Misterio was able to hit the Frankensteiner off the top. Rey and Juvy where both hurt from
the move but it was Misterio who managed to make the pin and evened the score at two each.
Both men struggled back to their feet and soon where right back where they started with some
more high risks.
The ending came after Juventud went for a piledriver on Rey Misterio. Rey was able to flip up
in the piledriver position and converted it into his facejam manouver. The Champion went to
the outside ring apron next and waited for Juventud to get back to his feet.
Juventud staggered back up and turned to face Rey, but Rey lept onto the ropes and sprung off
towards Juvy.
Rey then caught Juvy in mid flight and spun him around to hit a Tornado DDT that had the crowd
on their feet.
Misterio acknowledged the crowd before diving on top of Juventud Guerrera for the third and
final pinfall in this exciting contest.
Rey Misterio Jr. beat Juventud Guerrera 2 falls to 1:
x J. Guerrera beat Misterio Jr. via the Juvy Driver in 0:10:32
x Misterio Jr. beat J. Guerrera via the Top-Rope Frankensteiner in 0:14:46
x Misterio Jr. beat J. Guerrera via a Springboard Tornado DDT in 0:17:39
Rating: ****
(Rey Misterio Jr. retained the WWF Lightweight Title.)
**Cut backstage to Michael Hayes who is standing by with the Big Red Machine, Kane.**
HAYE - Kane, you heard Benoit's comments earlier on, what do you have to say in response?
KANE - Benoit, you are a fool. You may be technically skilled but I have the raw power. I am
the immovable object to your unstopable force.
Unlike Benoit, I have proven my dominance against the others in the main event tonight.
NO WAY OUT, Steve Austin and I faced one on one in a Hell in the Cell match......who won
that match?!?
HAYE - Why, you did Kane.
KANE - Exactly. Last week, the Rock ended up laid out on a broken table..who put him there.
HAYE - That'd be you again.
KANE - Correct again. In the last few months, I have become the Monster that I have always kept
caged within.
But 2001 is the Year that you will all see me take the WWF Gold. Last year I was stuck
in meaningless matches, tag team matches.
TAG MATCHES! I'm 7' and 300 lbs, why the hell would I be in the tag team division.
The Heavyweight championship is the ONLY belt I care about now and I'm walking out with
it over my shoulder tonight.
WWF INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP - LIONS DEN MATCH
KEN SHAMROCK (C.) Vs. TAZZ
Ken Shamrock took on Tazz in this unusual encounter for the Intercontinental Championship. The
match took place in a Lions Den which is an octogon shaped wiremesh cage.
Despite having experience in this type of environment from the UFC, Ken Shamrock didn't seem to
have any advantage against the Orange and Black Attack. Tazz was soon busted open in the early
goings on after Ken Shamrock sent him into the wiremesh with a droptoe hold. Shamrock then
started to snap and began working away at the open head wound with brutal rights and lefts.
Tazz was able to mount a good comback though and his Tazplexes where absolutely devestating as
he sent the Champion flying into the wiremesh time and time again. Shamrock was able to get
the Ankle Lock Submission onto Tazz, Tazz managed to get out of the hold though by climbing up
the wiremesh to relieve the pressure.
Ken Shamrock went crazy and released the hold, he went to work on Tazz with some more punches
and smashed Tazz's face into the wiremesh repeatedly. Shamrock set Tazz up on his shoulder
and signaled that he was going to ram Tazz into the mesh again. But just before they got to
the mesh, Tazz was able to escape and dropped behind Shamrock. Ken Shamrock's momentum carried
him into the mesh and Tazz grabbed him from behind in the Tazmission.
With the Tazmission on it was just a matter of time before Shamrock would loss. But the Champ
wasn't defeated yet, he tried the same move as Tazz did to escape the ankle lock, Shamrock
tried to walk up the wiremesh but Tazz smartly used it to his advantage and leaned further back
causing both men to go to the mat. Shamrock had nowhere to go and soon passed out to the
Tazmission.
Tazz made Ken Shamrock submit to the Tazmission in 0:21:18.
Rating: **** 1/4
(Tazz won the WWF Intercontinental Title.)
**We begin a video package for the next match. It begins with Mick Foley being attacked by the
debuting Sandman on Feb 12th.
Next up is Mick Foley attacking the Sandman with a Singapore Cane on Feb 19th after he fooled
Sandman into a match at NO WAY OUT.
Highlights of the finish at NO WAY OUT appear with Doom attacking Mick Foley and then Sandman
using the Singapore Cane on Foley to get the pin. Mick is then carried out to an ambulance.
Fast forward to Mick Foley's return on the 19th March against HHH. The match ended in a
Sandman run-in once again involving the Singapore Cane.
We end the highlights with a clip from Smackdown 22nd March when Commissioner Foley comes out
as Cactus Jack to sign a Singapore Cane match with Career Vs. Commissionership on the line.**
SINGAPORE CANE ON A POLE MATCH
COMMISSIONER Vs. WWF CAREER
CACTUS JACK Vs. THE SANDMAN w/t Shane McMahon
Cactus Jack took on the Sandman in this Singapore Cane match and extracted some revenge on the
Sandman after he came out armed with the barbed wire 2x4. Cactus attacked Sandman with it and
busted him open within minutes to the delight of the capacity crowd.
Jack then dropped Sandman with a double arm DDT on the outside and went back inside to get the
Singapore Cane off the pole. The Sandman re-entered the ring and Cactus nailed him on the top
of the head with it about three or four times until Sandman fell down. Cactus Jack then gave
a sadistic grin towards his fallen opponent and proceeded to cane him repeatedly.
It looked like Cactus Jack was forgetting about this match and just extracting revenge, but he
soon stopped the caning and picked up the Sandmam. He then dropped the Sandman with another
double arm DDT and went for the cover. But Shane interfered and broke up the pinfall. This
led to Jack picking up the Singapore Cane and walking towards Shane McMahon.
But before Cactus could get to Shane McMahon, Chris Benoit came running out armed with a steel
chair. Benoit nailed Cactus from behind with it, causing the Commissioner to drop to one knee,
Chris Benoit struck again with the chair to knock Cactus down and dragged the Sandman on top.
Cactus kicked out on two but just barely.
But the Corporation wasn't done there, Benoit and Shane attacked Cactus Jack as the Sandman
recovered in the corner. Benoit took Cactus Jack down with the rolling german suplexes and
Shane followed up with an elbow drop off the top rope.
Shane and Benoit dragged Cactus back to his feet as the Sandman picked up the Cane. Sandman
clocked Cactus on the skull with the Singapore Cane as the others held him up. Cactus was soon
left with a huge gash on his head and when the Sandman dropped him with the DDT, he was unable
to get a shoulder up this time.
The Sandman pinned Cactus Jack with the DDT in 0:22:19.

(The Sandman becomes the WWF Commissioner.)
WWF TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS
DOOM (C.) Vs. THE HOLLYS w/t Molly
Our next title match saw the Corporation's Doom take on the Hollys in tag team action. The
match saw Crush and Wrath simple overpowering the Hollys.
Doom dominated the fight, pure and simple. Crash and Hardcore Bob definatly had their hearts
into this match and tried as hard as they could to build some form of offence but Crush & Wrath
were just too big for any momentum to be built.
The ending came after Crash Holly was military pressed to the outside by Wrath. Hardcore Bob
was furious at this treatment and ran in only to be mugged by the two giants. Doom then set
up and delivered the Double Chokeslam to Bob Holly. Crush made a cocky pin by placing a foot
on the chest of Bob as Wrath brought Crash back into the ring.
But Bob Holly got the shoulder up!! This stunned Doom and they stared at each other for a
few seconds before Wrath signaled for the Double Chokeslam. They hit a second Double Chokeslam
onto Bob and this time Crush made a proper cover by hooking the leg. As the pin was counted
Wrath drilled Crash with the Meltdown Pumphandle Slam.
Doom defeated The Holly's when Crush pinned Bob Holly after the Double Chokeslam in 0:11:50.
Rating: * 1/2
(Doom retained the WWF Tag Team Champions.)
**Doom continue to attack Crash and Hardcore Bob despite having won the bout. They are quickly
able to beat down the Holly Cousins.
But Molly Holly enters the ring behind them and nails Wrath with a steel chair. It has no
effect and Wrath turns slowly to face Molly.
Molly backs off but Wrath grabs her and signals for Crush to come over.
However as they set her up for the Hightimes we see Buh Buh Ray and D-Von Dudley run out from
the backstage area to a mixed reaction.
The Dudleys enter and go straight to work on Doom, enabling Molly to roll out of the ring and
attend to Hardcore Bob and Crash.
Crush of Doom is sent outside by a double Dudley clothesline. Wrath tries to get at D-Von but
ends up being 3-D'ed to a huge ovation!
Wrath is down but it doesn't stop Crush coming back in. He charges Buh Buh but gets caught
in a scoop slam.
Buh Buh holds Crush's legs open and D-Von hits the WHASSSSSSSSSUUUPPP off the top to another
great response.
Crush rolls out of the ring as the Dudleys pick up the WWF Tag Titles from the canvas. The
Dudley Boys hold up the titles to a great pop before dropping them again.
The Dudley Boys exit the ring and walk back to the locker room as their music plays over the
arena.**
**We cut outside as we see Michael Cole standing by as a Limo pulls up behind him.**
COLE - Steve Austin and Ted DiBiase have finally arrived here tonight.
In just over an hour we will see Austin compete for the WWF Title in a fatal fourway.
**Austin has exited the limo and is followed by Ted DiBiase and Dynamite.**
COLE - Mr. Austin, I'd just like to ask what your game plan is tonight?
3:16 - What my game plan is?
COLE - Yeah, how do you expect to win the WWF Championship?
3:16 - Well........
**Austin suddenly strike Michael Cole with a right hand that sends him back in to a wall. The
Rattlesnake then knocks Cole to the floor with another huge punch and kicking away at him.**
3:16 - I expect to win like this, by stomping a mud hole in any son-bitch who stands in my way.
**Steve Austin walks off followed by Ted DiBiase and Dynamite.**
ONE HOUR IRON MAN MATCH - No Disqualification
TRIPLE H Vs. KURT ANGLE
Referee: Shawn Michaels
As you'd expect the Iron Man match got off to a slow start as neither man wanted to over exert
themselves in the early goings. Both men went for the mat skills and technical knowledge as
an attempt to wear down the other without using much force.
Kurt Angle came close to beating Triple H with a figure four after 10 minutes, HHH was able to
escape using the ropes and fought back to a vertical base. It was another five minutes before
Kurt Angle came off the ropes for a clothesline, but The Game caught him with a drop toe hold
and placed him into a Single Leg Boston Crab. Kurt Angle got to the ropes almost instantly
but Triple H refused to let go of the hold.
Referee Shawn Michaels had to practically pull Hunter off of Kurt Angle and the two stood face
to face for a moment before HBK went to check on Kurt Angle. As HBK checked on Kurt, The Game
went to the outside and pulled the Sledgehammer out from under the ring. HHH re-entered and
held the weapon behind his back as Kurt staggered back up.
HHH nailed Kurt in the midsection with the Sledgehammer as Kurt moved towards him. HBK was
furious at HHH but he simply doubled up Kurt Angle with another Sledgehammer shot and followed
up with the Pedigree for the pinfall.
x Triple H beat Angle via the Pedigree in 0:19:42 (HHH 1 - 0 KURT)
After Shawn counted the pinfall he pulled the Sledgehammer out of the way and put it in a
neutral corner away from the Game. But it didn't matter to Triple H, the damage had been done
to the Olympic Hero.
Triple H carried on his attack on Kurt Angle and stomped away at Kurt time and time again. HHH
almost went two up with a Highknee off the ropes but Kurt just rolled the shoulder in time.
The Game was furious and pulled Kurt Angle to his feet, he went to whip Angle to the ropes but
it was reversed and Helmsley went to the ropes. As HHH came off Kurt went for a backdrop but
he ducked to soon and got caught in a running DDT by HHH. The Game made the pinfall and this
time managed to go two up.
x Triple H beat Angle via a running DDT in 0:23:08 (HHH 2 - 0 KURT)
Two up and Triple H began to get cocky. But rightfully so, Kurt Angle's mouth was bloodied and
it appeared as though it was from internal injuries. The Game kept Kurt under control with
a Abdominal Stretch and tried for the submission victory. Kurt refused to give up despite
Shawn's growing concern for him. Eventually Triple H decided he was getting nowhere with that
method and released the hold. He then picked up Kurt Angle and hit him with a second Pedigree
to go three up.
x Triple H beat Angle via the Pedigree in 0:28:26 (HHH 3 - 0 KURT)
So the Sledgehammer shot earlier on in the match obviously had a huge effect on Kurt Angle as
HHH continued to control the match. HHH decided to punish Kurt Angle some more though and
moved for the Sledgehammer again hoping to put Kurt out for the rest of the match.
But Shawn Michaels snatched it back from HHH which led to the former friends standing face to
face once again. But as Triple H turned around Kurt caught him by the waist and took him down
with a Northern Lights suplex. HBK made the count which gave Angle his first pinfall after
more then half the match!
Right from the pinfall though, Kurt Angle was still having trouble moving as the internal
injuries appeared to be getting worse. Triple H got to his feet and came off the ropes with
a cross-body block of all things!! Shawn went back down to the mat to make the pinfall giving
Triple H the three fall lead again.
Right from the pinfall, Triple H struck with venom again and sent Kurt down with a running
neckbreaker. Helmsley was just brutal again and powerbombed Kurt Angle for another close pin
fall attempt. But once again, Kurt was unable to defend himself for long and the Game put him
down with a Pedigree to make it an amazing FIVE falls to Kurt's one.
x Angle beat Triple H via a Northern Lights suplex in 0:35:30
x Triple H beat Angle via a cross-body block in 0:36:01
x Triple H beat Angle via the Pedigree in 0:39:19 (HHH 5 - 1 KURT)
With control of the match firmly in his grasp, Triple H got cocky once more and began to slap
and try to embarise Kurt Angle by pinning him after the simplest of holds. Once again Triple
H applied an abdominal stretch to Kurt Angle, and once again Kurt refused to give up showing
his Integrety.
Triple H got frustrated at this once more as he seemed more determained to make Kurt give up
then he was at getting another pinfall. HHH was so determained that he got the Sledgehammer
fro the third time.
But this time, Shawn Michaels decided enough was enough and grabbed the Sledgehammer from him,
HHH was stunned but reached for the Sledgehammer again. They struggled over the Sledgehammer
for a while before HBK accidently hit HHH in the forehead with it while trying to pry it from
his grasp.
HHH staggered around and Kurt Angle took advantage by hitting the Olympic Slam on him. HBK
looked shocked at his actions and took a few seconds before dropping the Sledgehammer and
counting the pinfall.
x Angle beat Triple H via the The Olympic Slam in 0:49:27 (HHH 5 - 2 KURT)
Kurt Angle was delighted at getting the pinfall but was still suffering and couldn't capitalise
on the pinfall. Triple H was still down though and seemed almost unconcious due to the large
laceration on the top of his head. Both men lay still for several moments before Kurt got
back up and dragged Triple H back to his feet.
Angle went to send Triple H into the turnbuckle but HHH reversed but Kurt re-reversed and
pulled HHH towards him for another Olympic Slam! Kurt seemed to have gotten his second wind
and dived onto Triple H for the cover.
x Angle beat Triple H via the The Olympic Slam in 0:53:32 (HHH 5 - 3 KURT)
HHH was still staggered but just as Kurt did earlier he refused to stay down for long. Kurt's
momentum was building though but time was running out for the Olympic Hero. Kurt hit Helmsley
with a waistlock suplex after the Game tried a piledriver. Triple H was then covered by Kurt
Angle and with less then three minutes left Kurt was just ONE pinfall behind.
x Angle beat Triple H via a waistlock suplex in 0:57:26 (HHH 5 - 4 KURT)
Kurt was unstoppable now as he went at Triple H with a new found aggression. Kurt Angle hit
the Game with a beatiful belly-to-belly superplex with a minute and a half left but only got
a two count after Helmsley put his foot on the ropes. Angle couldn't believe it and pulled
Triple H back to his feet.
Kurt Angle hit the Olympic Slam on him again with less then a minute remaining on the clock.
Angle hit the move wrong though and knocked the wind out of himself at the same time. This let
the clock tick down some more but Kurt managed to roll on top with twenty seconds left. HBK
went down, one.....two......thr...shoulder! Triple H got the shoulder up!
The crowd, Kurt Angle and even Shawn Michaels were completely taken aback. Angle shook it off
though and pulled Helmsley up again with ten seconds left. Kurt Angle then set up Triple H for
the Pedigree!!! Angle delivered it and made the cover on the Game. HBK went down and counted
one......two.........threeding ding ding.
Kurt Angle gets the pinfall just in time! We go into an overtime period.......wait! Shawn
signaled to the timekeeper that the time limit expired before the three count! Triple H has
won and Kurt Angle is livid.
Kurt moves to Shawn Michaels but HBK backs up and rolls out of the ring before backing up the
ramp. Angle is furious and begins walking up the ramp after Shawn Michaels leaving Triple H
in the ring as the winner.
x time limit expired (Angle and Triple H) in 1:00:00
Triple H beat Kurt Angle 5 falls to 4:

**The Rock is shown backstage with Kevin Kelly. The crowd errupts at just the sight of the WWF
and People's Champion.**
KELL - Rock, in just a few minutes, you'll face probably your toughest match since regaining the
WWF Championship as you go against three men.
ROCK - The Rock never fails to be amazed at the shear wonder that is your power of observation.
Yes, that's right, the Rock WILL go into that ring against three men but the Rock doesn't
care.
Do you really think that just because the Rock has to face more then one jerbroni at
once that he'll be worried?
No, the Rock's not worried at all. He's not worried now and he won't be worried when he
steps into that ring.
Honestly, the Rock isn't going to waste a single drop of sweat being worried about a Red
Monster, a Rattlesnake or a Wolverine....and why should he.
You see the Rock is WWF Champion. The Rock IS the People's Choice and the Rock IS going
to win tonight.... ..IF YOU SMELLLALLALALALALALAAAAAAAA-OW! WHAT THE ROCK.....IS COOKIN'
WWF HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP - FATAL FOURWAY
THE ROCK (C.) Vs. STEVE AUSTIN w/t DiBiase
Vs. KANE Vs. CHRIS BENOIT w/t Shane McMahon
The fatal fourway match got off to a great start as you'd expect as all four men battled at
once in the centre of the ring with neither man being dominant for long. Kane soon changed
all that though after he dropped Chris Benoit to the outside with a Chokeslam from the apron.
Meanwhile in the ring the Rock was going to work on Steve Austin with his stinging rights and
a huge left hand in the corner. The Rock got a near fall after the float over DDT but failed
to get the three.
Eventually the Rock was taken to the outside by the combined effort of Benoit and Steve Austin,
as the two men appeared to be working together. They then went for Kane who fought them off
for quite a while before Ted DiBiase threw the briefcase to Chris Benoit. Benoit came off the
middle buckle with the briefcase and hit Kane on the head with it. Austin then hit the Sell
Out Stunner on Kane and made the cover for the elimination of the Big Red Machine.
x S. Austin beat Kane via the Sell Out Stunner in 0:15:18
Things looked bad for the Rock though as Austin and Benoit took it in turns to beat down the
champion while the other rested as Ted DiBiase and Shane McMahon instructed them from the
outside. This lasted for quite a while and as the crowd began booing them it seemed to help
the Rock get back into the match.
The champion fought back with a frenzy and hit the Rock Bottom on Chris Benoit. But as he made
the cover, Steve Austin was thrown a chair by Shane McMahon and he used it to break up the
pinfall. But the Rock rolled off at the last second and Austin hit Benoit in the chest with
the chair anyway.
Rock had his hands full again but with Benoit hurt from the chair shot at least the odds were
slightly less against him. The Rock and Austin brawled in the ring for quite a while but
Benoit recovered and retrieved the steel chair from the floor.
Chris Benoit nailed The Rock on the head with the chair, Austin dove on for the cover but
Benoit nailed him with the chair! Austin was hurt but got up and stood right in front of
the Crippler. The Rock got up but was put down with a double clothesline over the top by both
men who then stared each other down again.
Ted DiBiase and Shane McMahon both entered the ring to try and settle down their wrestlers as
the Rock was still down on the outside of the ring. Then all of a sudden Chris Benoit charged
Austin, The Rattlesnake moved away but Benoit nailed Shane McMahon instead.
Shane was furious and picked himself off of the floor as Ted DiBiase tried to calm down Chris
Benoit again. But Shane had enough, he grabbed the steel chair and ran at Benoit with it....
..only to run past him and bounce off of the ropes. Shane McMahon came off the ropes with a
flying chair shot onto Steve Austin that knocked the Rattlesnake down.
Austin got back up and tried to shake the cobwebs out but Shane handed the chair to Benoit who
nailed the Rattlesnake with a more vicious headshot with the chair. Benoit, DiBiase and Shane
rolled Steve Austin onto his back and Benoit made the pin.
x Benoit beat S. Austin via a chair shot in 0:27:51
Steve Austin was forced back to the locker rooms by several WWF officials as he tried to get
back in the ring to get Chris Benoit. Meanwhile at ringside the Rock was being kicked down on
the outside by Shane McMahon and Ted DiBiase who have seemingly joined forces here tonight.
The Rock was thrown into the ring by the managers and into Chris Benoit's domain. The Crippler
went right to work on the Rock with his usual mixture of technical manouvers that had the champ
worn out once again.
Chris Benoit got a 2 and 3/4 count on the Rock after the Rolling German Suplexes but wasn't
about to give up yet. Benoit kicked away at the left arm and shoulder of the Rock and looked
set to put him in the Crossface, but the Rock fought back up with a series of elbows and came
off the ropes looking for the Floatover DDT. However Chris Benoit had the move well scouted
and caught the Rock in the Crippler Crossface as he came off of the ropes.
The Rock was in the Crossface right in the center of the ring and looked like he was out of
luck until STEVE AUSTIN returned armed with another steel chair.
Benoit kept the hold on the Rock as McMahon and DiBiase tried to cut Steve Austin's approach
off in the aisle way. Austin wasted no time in dispatching a few chair shots to both men to
send them flying out of his way and dropped the chair to run the rest of the way to the ring.
The Rattlesnake slide in and Chris Benoit released the hold on the Rock to great him. Benoit
and Austin began slugging it out again with Steve Austin getting the slight advantage. Austin
gave a big right hand to Benoit who went backwards onto the ropes, he bounced forward and into
Steve Austin's Stunner.
Austin and the Rock looked at each other before Steve told the Rock to make the cover. The Rock
covered Benoit, never keeping his eyes off of Steve Austin. Dynamite of the M.D.Group and the
Corporation's Sandman both ran down to break up the pinfall but Austin soon dispatched them
with a series of Stunners that had the crowd on their feet.
x Rock beat Benoit via outside interference in 0:35:43
The Rock defeated Chris Benoit, Kane and Steve Austin:
Rating: ***
