Held in: BOUTWELL AUDITORIUM
Location: BIRMINGHAM, ALABAMA, UNITED STATES
Date/Time: Mar 08/01 at 7:30pm
**We open with highlights from RAW. Starting with Benoit bursting into the M.D.Group's locker
room demanding his money. Then going to Shane calling his lawyer. We end the highlights
with Benoit coming out on RAW and saying he's the No#1 Contender!
Then the highlights end as we cut to live action and "No Chance" plays as Shane McMahon comes
out followed by Chris Benoit.**
SHAN - That's right, on Monday night, me and Chris Benoit realised what a pain in the ass, Ted
DiBiase can be. We found out that he had failed to provide enough money in his account
for the cheque he gave us.
So the contract he gave us means nothing!
Well this means that Kane never won no#1 contendership, so tonight I'm signing a match in
preperation of WRESTLEMANIA X-7.
CBEN - Wait, Shane! I don't need to prepare at all. I'm ready for the Rock at WRESTLEMANIA.
SHAN - I didn't say you needed to prepare it's the Rock. I think he needs a challenge, so
tonight he'll be in a match against Edge, Test and Bull of the M.D.Group!!
That's right Rock, a three on one match!
Let's see if the rest of the MDGroup is as useless as their boss!
CBEN - And I've got the night off, so I'll be watching the match backstage. Rock, make sure you
don't get beat too badly. I wouldn't want you to be anything short of 100%.
**"No Chance" plays again as Chris Benoit and Shane McMahon leaves. We now cut backstage to the
M.D.Group locker room. Steve Austin is throwing chairs and monitors all over the room as the
others try and calm him.**
BULL - Hey calm down Steve. I'm sure the boss'll sort this out
EDGE - Ya, totally!
3:16 - Well the boss isn't here is he!
DYNA - Test, you better ring Mr. DiBiase and tell him to hurry.
TEST - You got it.
**Test walks to the corner and uses a cell phone. By now Austin has stopped throwing stuff and
paces the room.**
3:16 - I can't believe this sh!t. First I lose the title shot to Kane, then when we come up with
another plan to get it back, Benoit fu#king steals the shot.
And if that's not enough, Shane gets us to do his dirty work and wear out the Rock.
**Austin begins throwing stuff again and demolitishing the room as the others begin to look
worried. Meanwhile Test has given up with the phone.**
TEST - No answer Dynamite.
DYNA - Keep trying, Austin's going crazy.
3:16 - Crazy! I'll show you crazy, you pi$$ing 'hole!
**Austin delivers the mid-section kick to Dynamite and follows up with a Sell Out Stunner.
Test, Bull and Edge back away from Austin as he kicks away at the fallen Dynamite.**
CHRISTOPHER DANIELS Vs. BUH BUH RAY DUDLEY
Opening match saw Buh Buh take on one half of the Fallen in an average match. The match was
mostly Buh Buh's as he overpowered Daniels.
Dudley got the victory after Daniel's missed a missle dropkick, he got up and got the Cutter.
Buh Buh Ray Dudley pinned Christopher Daniels after a Buh Buh Cutter in 0:05:03.
Rating: * 1/4
HARDY BOYZ w/t Lita Vs. TEAM EXTREME
A rematch from Raw which saw the same result as the Hardy Boyz defeated Tazz & Sabu in a close
exchange of the two teams.
The match end was fast and furious after Sabu came into double team Matt Hardy. Matt was sent
into the corner by Tazz, who held him there as Sabu went for a Split Kick off a chair. But
Jeff shoved Tazz in the way and he collided with Sabu.
Sabu fell outside as Matt hit the Twist of Fate on Tazz, followed by Jeff's Swanton Bomb to
give the Hardyz another victory.
The Hardy Boyz defeated Team Extreme (Sabu and Tazz) when J. Hardy pinned Tazz with the Swanton
Bomb in 0:15:49.
Rating: ** 1/2
**We cut outside where we see a huge stretch limosine pulling up. The driver steps out and
opens the door. Ted DiBiase steps out holding his briefcase as usual. He waits outside the
limo as another man exits. They then walk into the arena and towards the M.D.Groups room.
But on the way by Michael Cole catches up with them hoping for an exculsive.**
COLE - Mr. DiBiase welcome to the arena. What took you so long to get here and who is this man?
**They continue walking as the man reaches into a pocket and pulls out a card and hands it over
to Michael Cole.**
COLE - Stephens & Tate Lawyers. Mr. DiBiase, is this anything to do with the rumours that you're
very close to bankrupcy.
TATE - My client has no comment.
**The three men are now outside the M.D.Group's locker room. Cole tries again to get an answer
from Ted DiBiase.**
COLE - Well what about the obvious friction from Steve Austin against you and your group in the
last few weeks since failing to secure a WRESTLEMANIA title shot?
TATE - My client has no comment. Now if you'll excuse us, we have a staff meeting to conduct.
COLE - (sigh) Ok thanks anyway. Back to you JR and the King.
HARDCORE MATCH
CORPORATION (Doom&Sandman) Vs. HOLLYS & K-KWIK w/t Molly
Six man tag action next as the Hollys teamed with K-Kwik to take on the Sandman and Doom. The
match could hardly be classed as a tag team match as there was little action on the apron in
this one. All six men fought in the ring and on the outside using a variety of weapons.
K-Kwik shocked a lot of people by going right for the Sandman with some great chair assisted
moves. K-Kwik almost got the win after he threw the chair at Sandman, who caught it. K-Kwik
then hit a jumping crecent kick that sent the chair into his face.
But the ending came after Doom stepped it up a gear and drove Crash Holly into the ringsteps
with a double Military Press Slam. Hardcore Bob then felt the effects of the Double Chokeslam
onto a roadsign as Wrath pinned him.
Corporation (Crush, The Sandman and Wrath) defeated The Holly's and K-Kwik when Wrath pinned
Holly after the High Times in 0:17:07.
Rating: ** 1/2
**Benoit is shown backstage in the Corporation locker room. There is a knock on the door as Ted
DiBiase and Mr. Tate enters.**
TATE - Mr. Benoit, we have your money here. If you'll just accept my client's apologies for the
late arrival we can get the deal finished.
CBEN - Wait a damn minute! Why are you still trying to buy the no#1 contender spot from me?
Austin lost it to Kane at NO WAY OUT.
TATE - Well that's not really public knowledge.
CBEN - You don't tell me why and you can get the hell out right now.
**Ted DiBiase nobs at Mr. Tate, who shrugs and then continues.**
TATE - Well the contract basically had sub-paragraph which said that we don't get the no#1
contendership until you get the money.
CBEN - Oh I get it. You really did have the money to pay me first time didn't you. But you
withdrew enough from your account so the cheque would bounce, meaning you could buy it
all over again.......right!
TATE - ...That is correct Mr. Benoit.
CBEN - Well this means that I can negotiate a bit more.....say four times the original amount!
$TED - FOUR! YOU BLOOD SUCKING PIECE OF CR~P.
TATE - Errr.....what my client meant was that's proposterous. You signed the contract for a set
fee and that's the most he'll be willing to pay.
**Chris Benoit strokes his chin in thought.**
CBEN - But the contract says that if I don't get the money, I don't have to give you the number
one contendership.
TATE - Well not quite, you see....
$TED - SHHHHH! Yes that's correct Mr. Benoit.
CBEN - Fine, well I'm keeping my number one contendership UNLESS you come up with a new contract
for four times the amount.
$TED - So you're refusing to accept this money?
CBEN - You got it.
$TED - You sure?
CBEN - Yes.
$TED - Final answer?
CBEN - YES! I DON'T WANT YOUR MONEY!
$TED - Well Mr. Tate, you heard him. I offered him the owed payment and he refused.
TATE - Yes Mr. DiBiase, I did hear. Thank you Mr. Benoit, you've been very helpful.
**Chris Benoit looks puzzled as Ted DiBiase and Mr. Tate leave the room looking suspiously
happy.**
BILLY GUNN Vs. CHRIS JERICHO
This was Billy Gunn's first match since Trish walked out on him and joined Val Venis again. But
it didn't show as he was just as determined to succeed as he has always been. Gunn took it to
Jericho and Jericho took it to Gunn. But it was Billy Gunn who managed to get control after
he hit a Fame-Ass-Er on Y2J for a close near fall.
However, although Gunn wasn't thinking about Trish, he couldn't help looking at her when she
appeared at the top of the ramp with Val Venis. This caused enough of a distraction for Y2J
to recover. Gunn turned around and got a boot in the face, Jericho bounced off the ropes but
Billy ducked and went for a Samoan Drop...but Jericho re-countered it into a crucifix and got
the three.
Chris Jericho pinned Billy Gunn after a crucifix in 0:16:15.
Rating: *** 1/2
TRIPLE H w/t Steph Vs. KURT ANGLE
Another encounter between these two men, which had the Game pick up the win without needing to
do anything!
As both men circled each other at the start of the match we saw Billy Gunn, Sabu, Crash and Al
Snow run out from the back armed with weapons and a referee behind them. It was another 24/7
challenge and Kurt was in trouble.
Kurt was beaten down by the four men who appeared to be working together, until Snow made a
cover that is. Crash pulled him away and went to work on him as Sabu nailed Gunn on the outside
with a Triple Jump Moonsault of the barriers.
Triple H was watching the entire battle as Kurt tried to keep the belt but eventually remembered
he was still in a match. Triple H made the cover on Kurt Angle after another chair shot this
time from Sabu. Triple H won despite not doing a move on Kurt!!
Triple H pinned Kurt Angle due to outside interference in 0:06:45.
Rating: ** 3/4
**Kurt Angle is set on by Billy Gunn, Sabu, Crash and Al Snow as they attempt to get HaRdCoRe
gold from him. But Kurt manages to get to the outside and grabs the title belt and a mic
from the timekeeper.**
KURT - What's wrong with you people! Have you no Integrety! I was in the middle of a match
and you cost me it because you want this HaRdCoRe belt!
Well I've had enough, I'm forfeiting this title belt, undefeated as champion. Why?
Because I'm an Olympic Hero, I have no reason to hold such a lowley title.
But hear this Triple H. Two matches between us, have ended due to these idiots trying
to pin me, so I want a match against you at WRESTLEMANIA.
You said you want to get back in the WWF Championship hunt, well so do I.
So at WRESTLEMANIA, lets find out who the most deserving of us is.
WWF INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP
KEN SHAMROCK (C.) Vs. PERRY SATURN
Saturn came out ready for this match and ran into the ring and charged right at Ken Shamrock.
But Shamrock caught him with a Drop Toe Hold into the Ankle Lock Submission immediatly which
had Saturn in trouble.
Saturn couldn't reach the ropes and had to tap out, for Shamrock's fastest title defence to
date.
Ken Shamrock made Saturn submit to the Ankle Lock Submission in 0:00:29.
Rating: ** 3/4
(Ken Shamrock retained the WWF Intercontinental Title.)
THREE ON ONE HANDICAP MATCH
THE ROCK (WWF Champ) Vs. BULL/EDGE & TEST
Somehow the Rock did it! The Rock won despite the overwhelming odds. The M.D.Group triple
teamed the Rock throughout this match but the People's Champ kept getting up.
The end came after the Rock came bursting out of the corner and hit a running clothesline on
Bull. He was then able to duck an Edge clothesline and then a Test boot. Test's boot just
happened to kick Edge to the outside though. Rock hit the spinbuster onto Test and then as
Bull got back up, the Rock hit the Rock Bottom on him to get the pinfall just before Edge got
there.
The Rock defeated Million Dollar Group (Bull Buchanan, Edge and Test) when Rock pinned Bull
Buchanan with the Rock Bottom in 0:10:47.
Rating: ** 1/4
**The Million Dollar theme plays as Ted DiBiase comes out followed by Mr. Tate, the lawyer.
As they walk to the ring, we see Edge, Test and Bull begin to assult the Rock.**
$TED - Behold the NEW no#1 contender, who will face the Rock on April 1st at WRESTLEMANIA.....
**Steve Austin comes strolling out to the ring to a hugely hostile reception. Austin enters
the ring and nails the Stunner to the Rock before standing alongside DiBiase.
The others re-start the assult on the champion.**
$TED - It's a great day for us because today I managed to not only get us the number one
contendership back......I managed to do it for FREE!
TATE - That's right, you see Mr. Benoit, if you and Mr. McMahon check your copy of the contract.
You'll see page 3, paragraph 6, line 11 states that, and I quote "The ownership of said
item will not be transfered until payment is received by the original party."
Now that's all well and good in your favour......BUT if you read the very small print
that I put in as I was drawing it up, you'll see an addition to it.
$TED - Yeah, right underneath that line it states "unless original party no longer wants
payment, in which case transfer will still go through but no payment pending."
We offered Benoit the payment, he didn't accept.
TATE - You should have read it more clearly. Then again you might have missed it because it
kinda looks like an underline for ORIGINAL PARTY in the above line....but never mind.
$TED - Shane McMahon, you can't seriously think that I didn't have a back up plan built into
the contract did you? You see everybody's got a price for the Million Dollar Man.
But come WRESTLEMANIA, the Million Dollar Group is going to once again have the WWF
Championship!
**We go off the air as Austin delivers another Stunner to the Rock**
