Card Information:
Held in: NORTHLANDS COLISEUM
Location: EDMONTON, ALBERTA, CANADA
Date/Time: Aug 17/00 at 7:30pm
[Sunday Night Heat]: No-Time-Limit-Match:
Christian pinned Marty Jannetty after a flying elbowdrop in 0:08:53.
Rating: 3/4*
**The return from the former Rocker, Marty Jannetty didn't go as smoothly as he'd hoped. He
was beaten by the great skills from Christian, who proved why he was a former tag champion.
However Jannetty did show some great promise in this match and could be a great addition to
the roster to replace the wrestlers who departed on Raw.**
[Sunday Night Heat]: No-Time-Limit-Match:
Rikishi Phatu pinned Big Boss Man with the Banzai Drop in 0:04:56.
Rating: 1/2*
**Bossman went 0 - 5 in this match as he is still without a win. Rikishi was able to send the
Cobb County native from one side of the ring to the other in quick fashion. Boss Man tried
to nail Phatu with the nightstick at one point but the big Samoan nailed him with the super
kick and dragged him to the corner.
After the match, Shane McMahon came out and told the Boss Man that he was out of the Corporate
stable as he wasn't doing as well as the other three members, Saturn, HHH and Benoit.**
[Sunday Night Heat]: No-Time-Limit-Match:
Foreign Fanatics and Shoichi Funaki defeated T&A (Al Snow, Test and Val Venis)
when Funaki pinned Test with the Fisherman Buster in 0:12:21.
Rating: 3/4*
**Funaki made his return to the WWF by teaming with his Kai-En-Tai team mate, Taka and his new
partner, Essa Rios. Although T&A were a lot bigger then the Fanatics, they used their speed
and quickness to escape out of danger and got some great offence in. Rios managed to take
out Val Venis near the end with a moonsault from the top rope to the outside. Where as Taka
and Al Snow were left slugging it out as Funaki got the win on Test.**

No-Time-Limit-Match:
Scotty Too Hotty pinned Gothdust with the Pumpin' Slam in 0:12:30.
Rating: * 1/4
**This match saw part of Too Cool face part of the Brood. Scottie got the win over Gothdust
when he got cocky. Goth had dominated most of the match and looked confident he was going to
win but he turned his back for a second to look at the Brood leader, Gangrel. Scotty was able
to spring back to his feet and nailed Gothdust with the Pumpin' Pumphandle Slam for the win
for Too Cool. But there were more Too Cool/Brood matches to come!**

No-Time-Limit-Match:
Gangrel pinned Rock-A-Billy with the Impaler in 0:11:34.
Rating: * 3/4
**Gangrel got revenge against Too Cool for his groups loss to Scotty earlier in the night. But
it took the entire group to beat Rock-A-Billy. Gothdust came down the aisle at one point but
the referee went outside to cut him off. Unfortunatly for Rock-A-Billy it was a plan and Kane
and Bigelow entered from the other side of the ring and went to work. A Kane chokeslam and
Bam Bam headbutt followed before HELL FIRE left as quickly as they arrived.
Surprisingly Gunn did kick out from the combination by placing his foot on the ropes but then
Gangrel drilled him with the Impaler in the centre of the ring for the victory.**
No-Time-Limit-Match:
Eddie Guerrero and D'Lo Brown defeated Crowbar and Saturn when D'Lo pinned
Saturn with the Lo-Down in 0:10:07.
Rating: ** 1/2
**An unusual match here arranged by Mick Foley. He said that he might have more of these 'WILD
CARD' type matches in the future. Both teams worked well together though considering it was
their first times together. The personallities of Crowbar & Saturn seemed to be the most
sucessful as the raw power of both men seemed to be working against the speed and technichal
skills of D'Lo and Eddie.
The best exchanges were between the European and Lightweight Champions, Guerrero and Saturn.
The former Radical team mates fought hammer and nail and never seemed to gain an advantage for
long.
In the end though a great hurricanrana by Guerrero followed up with the Lo-Down was more then
enough to put away Saturn. But it didn't end there though!**

No-Time-Limit-Handicap-Match:
Tazz defeated Shoichi Funaki and Taka Michinoku when Tazz made Funaki submit to
the Tazmission in 0:15:05.
Rating: **
**Tazz seemed to under estimate Funaki and Michinoku in this handicap match of his own request.
He seemed confident that he'd win in only a few minutes but the team work of Kai-En-Tai
meant that Tazz was never able to get a clean pin or keep the Tazmission on for long.
Eventually though he did manage to get the win but only after nailing Taka with a T-Bone
Tazzplex into the ringpost was he able to apply the Tazmission to Funaki for the pass out**
No-Time-Limit-Match:
Ken Shamrock pinned Edge after a Frankensteiner in 0:05:16.
Rating: ** 1/4
(Ken Shamrock retained the WWF Intercontinental Title.)
**The World's Most Dangerous Man showed that he can beat his opponents in a variaty of ways.
After Edge managed to escape every time, Shamrock, went for his leg, he had to change tactics.
Shamrock worked over the upper body and head with some wonderful moves. Edge fought well and
looked like he could win it after he hit a Spear off the top rope. But Shamrock raised a
shoulder just before the three count.
Edge then sent Shamrock into the corner but it was reversed and Edge crashed back first into
the buckle and staggered out into the Frankensteiner.**

No-Time-Limit-Match:
Allied Powers defeated Hell Fire when Angle pinned Kane with the
The Olympic Slam in 0:22:13.
Rating: ** 3/4
**The debut of the Kane/Bigelow tag team from the Brood was a grulling match. All four men
fought it out for the twenty minutes. Kane and Bigelow almost won the match but it was the
blind tag from the Bulldog which helped them win this one.
Kane threw Davey into the ropes when he tagged in Angle. Kane didn't see this and drilled
the Bulldog with a chokeslam. From there Bigelow went upstairs to deliver his headbutt to the
fallen Bulldog.
Meanwhile Kurt Angle snuck in the ring and grabbed Kane from behind with the Olympic Slam.
Bigelow covered the Bulldog at the same time and as the referee began counting the three on
Kane, he thought it was him getting the pin. Three seconds later, the Allied Powers win and
Bam Bam realised his mistake.
HELL FIRE then went crazy, destroying the Powers with powerbombs and chokeslams which left
the Bulldog and Kurt Angle out.
As Hell Fire left, Crash Holly ran down with a referee which could only mean one thing...an
imprompt HaRdCoRe match for Kurt Angle's title!**
[24/7 HaRdCoRe Title Match]: No-Time-Limit-No-Countout-No-DQ-Match:
Crash Holly pinned Kurt Angle with the Crashlanding in 0:00:07.
Rating: *
(Crash Holly won the WWF HaRdCoRe Title.)
**Holly dived straight into the ring, picked up Kurt, drilled him with the Crashlanding and got
the three count to become the new champion. That was the entire match, Angle was out before
Crash came down and couldn't defend himself. BUT the Bulldog saw Crash celebrating in the
ring and realised what had happened. He went after Crash but the Houdini of Hardcore escaped
again.**
No-Time-Limit-Four Corners Match:
The Legion Of Doom defeated The Hardy Boyz, The Acolytes and T & A with Head:
x M. Hardy beat Test via a flying legdrop in 0:11:45
x M. Hardy beat Faarooq via the Twist of Fate in 0:12:11
x Hawk beat J. Hardy after the Doomsday Device in 0:12:37
Rating: * 1/2
(The Legion Of Doom retained the WWF Tag Team Champions.)
**The Legion of Doom retained the belts in this four team brawl. It was supposed to be a tag
match but all eight men where in the ring at once leaving the referee no choice but to allow
the bout in continue in the same fashion.
It was a fast passed affair though. T&A with Head managed to get their combination on Faarooq
of the Snowplow and Test elbowdrop.
But Matt Hardy broke up Test's pin of Faarooq with a legdrop from the top rope to eliminate
T&A.
Almost immediatly Matt Hardy picked up Faarooq and drilled him with the Twist of Fate to get
the Acolytes out as well.
Unfortunatly while he was pinning Faarooq, his partner Jeff Hardy got hit with the Doomsday
Device. Matt Hardy got up from Faarooq only to be double clotheslined to the outside by Hawk
and Animal before Hawk then went back to Jeff and got the pin.**

No-Time-Limit-Match:
The Corporation (Chris Benoit and Hunter Hearst Helmsley) defeated
Rocky Maivia and Chris Jericho when Helmsley pinned Maivia with the Pedigree in
0:09:40.
Rating: ** 1/4
**So the Corporation managed to prevent the Rock from getting a title shot by arranging this tag
match instead. Rock and Y2J worked well together against the common enemy.
But the interference from Shane McMahon and Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley proved to much of a
distraction for Earl Hebner.
He turned his back to get them backstage and Perry Saturn ran down and clobbered Rock with the
European title.
Benoit then hit Jericho with his own WWF Heavyweight title belt as he attempted to make the
save.
Triple H then hit the Pedigree on the Rock to get the cheap win.**
Match observations:
NEWS DESK by Russell Mania
Mick Foley has announced that he will reveal upto four matches for SummerSlam on next week's
Raw IS War. Most of them will involve the WWF titles.
The additions of Marty Jannetty and Funaki to the WWF have been regarded as unusual. They
arrived at the WWF as part of a trade with XPW which saw Yokozuna and Terry Funk head in the
other direction. Most people are skeptical about what these two have to offer as they were
satisfied with Terry Funk and expected Yokozuna to do a lot better.
It's also being rumoured that Ted DiBiase's appearance today wasn't just a one off and that he
will be on Raw as well. What will he say? Will he reveal who his collegue is? What will he
say to the Rock?
Finally the Boss Man's WWF career could be ending soon as he was fired from Shane's Corporate
stable. What will the Boss Man do now as he has not made much of an impact in recent weeks and
holds the longest losing streak of any WWF employee at this time.
