Held in: NORTH CHARLESTON COLISEUM
Location: SOUTH CAROLINA, UNITED STATES
Date/Time: Mar 05/01 at 7:30pm
**We open backstage in the M.D.Group's locker room. They are all gathered around being talked
to by DiBiase and Austin.**
3:16 - So that's the plan. We take out either Kane or the Rock from the main event at
WRESTLEMANIA giving me the chance to get back into the event.
$TED - I want Edge, Bull and Dynamite to focus on Kane. Austin, myself and Test will go for the
Rock.
**The group all get up and exit leaving Austin and Ted DiBiase in the room.**
3:16 - This better work Ted, I'm getting fed up with these failed plans of yours.
**Suddenly the door bursts open and Benoit storms in holding a piece of paper in his hand.**
CBEN - DiBIASE! You son of a bitch, come here.
**Austin stands in front of Chris Benoit, stopping him getting to DiBiase.**
3:16 - Wooh there Crippler, what the hell's up with you all of a sudden?
CBEN - I'll tell you what, I gave you my no#1 contendership before NO WAY OUT in exchange for a
sh!t load of money.
3:16 - So what is it you want? More money? Tough!
CBEN - I don't want more money, I want the originally agreed money.
3:16 - What are you going on about?
CBEN - I'm talking about this fu#king cheque. It bounced because Mr. DiBiase hasn't got enough
money in his account.
3:16 - That's impossible, isn't it Ted...
$TED - Well errr....
3:16 - TED! What the hell is going on here.
$TED - Benoit can you leave me and Austin for a while. I promise you'll get the money soon. But
I got to discuss something with him.
CBEN - You got a week to sort this sh!t out and give me that money.
**Benoit storms back out as Austin turns to face Ted DiBiase and we fade to commercials.**
WWF LIGHTWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
JUVENTUD GUERRERA (C.) Vs. SYXX
Juvi put the Lightweight title on the line in this opening match against Syxx. The match was
superb as Syxx seemed to find his form again in this division.
Despite this it wasn't to be Syxx's night as his Syxx-Factor was turned into a short powerbomb
by the champion and then followed up with the Juvy Driver.
Juventud Guerrera pinned Syxx with the Juvy Driver in 0:12:00.
Rating: *** 1/4
(Juventud Guerrera retained the WWF Lightweight Title.)
TEAM EXTREME (Sabu/Tazz) Vs. HARDY BOYS w/t Lita
Sabu & Tazz took on the Hardy Boys in our next match and got creamed by the young brother team.
Team Extreme made several mistakes as Sabu either stayed in too long or tried to help out Tazz
when he didn't need help, which of course drew the referee towards him.
Ending came after Sabu missed the Triple Jump Moonsault on Matt Hardy. Matt quickly hit the
Twist of Fate onto Sabu and made the cover. Tazz ran in but Jeff used Sabu's chair to hit a
variation of Poetry in Motion on him.
The Hardy Boyz defeated Team Extreme (Sabu and Tazz) when M. Hardy pinned Sabu with the Twist
of Fate in 0:13:25.
Rating: ** 1/2
**Shane McMahon is shown talking to Chris Benoit backstage in the Corporation locker room.**
SHAN - So what'd DiBiase say?
CBEN - He said he'd sort it out and I gave him a week to supply the cash.
SHAN - Good. I can't believe Ted would stab us in the back like that, I'm sure it was just an
oversight by him. He wouldn't risk turning me against him.
CBEN - Exactly what I thought, but I want that money. That contract I signed said that I give
him the title shot for the money. He didn't pay me the money but he still got the title
shot.
SHAN - Ha, yeah but the stupid S.O.B lost it to Kane didn't he.......wait a minute! I've just
realised something.
CBEN - What?
SHAN - It might be nothing. Can you give me a moment I got a call to make.
CBEN - Ok Shane.
SHAN - See you soon.
**Chris Benoit exits the room as Shane McMahon picks up the phone and dials an unseen number.**
SHAN - Hello, is that Dowey, Cheatem and Howe Lawyers? Great, put me through to Mr. Dowey, tell
him it's Shane McMahon and it's VERY important.
BILLY GUNN w/t Trish Vs. VAL VENIS
Good match between two of the less established singles wrestlers in the WWF at the moment.
Billy Gunn was the agressor in the match until Trish distracted the official, as she did last
week, so Gunn could use a chair.
But Venis was able to grab Gunn with a go behind and gave him the Blue Thunder Bomb onto the
chair, which Gunn dropped. Val Venis then followed up by kicking the chair out of the ring
and going up top for the Money Shot.
Val Venis pinned Billy Gunn with the Money Shot in 0:07:51.
Rating: ** 1/2
**Venis is celebrating on the way back to the locker room as once again Billy Gunn gets in the
face of Trish.
Trish is backing off from him and looking quite scared but Gunn continues shouting at her.
Trish tries to leave but Gunn pulls her back by the arm and slaps her across the face sending
her to the mat.
Val Venis, who has been watching this from the top of the ramp, runs back down to the ring.
As Billy Gunn shouts at Trish, Venis enters and grabs him from behind with the Blue Thunder
Bomb.
Venis then helps Trish Stratus back up to her feet. Trish hugs Venis for several seconds and
then walks over to Gunn who is down on the canvas.
Trish looks at Venis and then at Gunn. She then pulls off her engagement ring and drops it
onto Billy Gunn.
Val Venis' music hits again as the Big Valbowski leaves with Trish Stratus right behind him.**
WWF EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP
RAZOR RAMON (C.) Vs. K-KWIK Vs. AL SNOW Vs. SATURN
Razor's toughest title defense came next as he had to put the belt on the line against three
WWF Superstars. It was a fourway dance which meant that all four men where in the ring at the
same time, meaning that Razor had to make sure no-body else was pinned if he hoped to keep the
title.
The match was close but the ending was the most exicting part of the match as all four men hit
their finishers in sucession. K-Kwik nailed the Kwik Cutter on Razor Ramon but when he went
for the cover, Saturn hit the top rope elbowdrop on him. Snow and Saturn then fought over who
should get the pin which resulted in a Snow-plow. But Razor had recovered and was able to hit
Snow with the Razor's Edge for a sucessful defence.
Razor Ramon defeated Saturn, K-Kwik and Al Snow when Ramon pinned Snow with the Razors Edge in
0:18:16.
Rating: ** 1/4
(Razor Ramon retained the WWF European Title.)
**We cut to footage recorded before we came on air. We see Commissioner Mick Foley being
approached by Eddie Guerrero, The Kat and Chyna.**
EDDI - Hey Foley, I need you to sign a tag title match for tonight.
MICK - Listen, I understand you're upset at losing the belts to DOOM last week but I can't.....
EDDI - No! It's not just that. You saw what they did to my tag partner, Essa Rios. They put
him on the shelf just as they did to D-Von a week ago. I want payback.
MICK - Ok, so who's gonna be teaming with ya? Chyna?
EDDI - No way, Mamacita could get hurt out there.
**Chyna looks offended by this comment but says nothing.**
EDDI - No you see, Essa is like family to me so I'm gonna use family to get back, come here.
**Chavo Guerrero Jr. walks up.**
MICK - A fine choice, Ok. I'll sign the match for tonight. And guys, good luck.
WWF TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
DOOM (C.) w/t Shane Vs. EDDIE & CHAVO GUERRERO
Eddie Guerrero teamed by with his relative, Chavo to take on Doom in this one. But Doom didn't
want to play by the rules in this match.
Crush and Wrath constantly risked disqualification by double teaming and switching members in
front of the referee. Eventually they did get DQ'ed after Eddie hit the Frog Splash on Wrath,
Crush came in and knocked out Chavo with a steel chair. Crush then used it to break up the
pinfall causing the ref to call for the bell.
After the match, Eddie was given the Full-Nelson Slam onto the chair by Crush and Chavo was
almost decapitated when Shane McMahon did a flying chairshot with another one.
Chavo Guerrero Jr. and Eddie Guerrero defeated Doom when E. Guerrero defeated Crush by
disqualification in 0:13:37.
Rating: ** 1/2
(Doom retained the WWF Tag Team Champions.)
STEVE AUSTIN Vs. KEN SHAMROCK
Main event time and Steve Austin continued his winning streak with a victory over the IC champ,
Ken Shamrock.
Shamrock fought hard against the Rattlesnake but it wasn't enough, as Austin fought back at him.
The match was surprisingly clean as Steve Austin went back to what he does best, winning matches
in the ring! With Ted DiBiase away from ringside, there was no interference either.
Austin put Ken Shamrock away after reversing Shamrock's Irish Whip into the buckle. Shamrock
went sternum first into the buckle and boot, Stunner, WINNER!
Steve Austin pinned Ken Shamrock with the Sell Out Stunner in 0:11:34.
Rating: ** 1/2
**As Austin's music plays it is interupted as "Crippler" plays as Benoit comes out followed by
Shane McMahon.**
SHAN - Well done Austin, a great victory. But as Ted DiBiase has left the arena, me and Benoit
have to clarify before everyone here tonight that Kane is no longer the no#1 contender.
You see, I realised that as Ted DiBiase hasn't paid my associate, Chris Benoit for the
no#1 contendership, it means that the contract you signed to purchase it, is null and
void.
Which in turn means that as you didn't have the no#1 contendership at NO WAY OUT, you
couldn't put it up against Kane.
In short, Chris Benoit won the WRESTLEMANIA title shot at the ROYAL RUMBLE. Benoit is
STILL the no#1 contender and will continue to be up until WRESTLEMANIA where he will
become Champion!
3:16 - This can't be right? Ted told me that contract was set in stone and that nothing could
break it.
SHAN - That's what I thought but my lawyer informed me that the contract is void if a party
doesn't supply their part of the deal within a suitable period of time.
So Austin, you need to talk this over with DiBiase some more because April 1st, it'll be
the Rock against the Crippler.
CBEN - And that's a fact so get to know it.
**We go off the air with Benoit and Shane looking smug, as Austin looks on.**
