Card Information: Held in: BEEGHLY CENTER Location: OHIO, UNITED STATES Date/Time: Jan 29/01 at 7:30pm
**The show begins backstage in the MDGroup's locker room. Ted DiBiase is at the top of a table and Austin is sitting opposite him. Edge, Dynamite, Test and Bull are around the table as well.**
$TED - Well we've got to get Steve Blackman and we need to do it by the end of tonight's show.
EDGE - Why the end of tonight's show?
$TED - Because, Blackman won that match last week on Smackdown and so he'll be in tonight's
main event for the NO WAY OUT title shot that's why!
TEST - So where'd you want us to wait for him? I mean me and Bull scouted the arena for him
earlier and he doesn't seem to be here yet.
3:16 - The best way is for you and Bull to wait by the car park entrance after your HaRdCoRe
match.
BULL - Check.
TEST - Right.
3:16 - Dynamite and Edge, I want you two to cover the side doors. I want that b@stard brought
down. No one screws me over and survives.
$TED - And as you all know, Foley said that a member of the MDGroup would be in tonight's main
event.....so if Blackman were to come to an unfortunate injury then he'd have to put
Austin in the match.
3:16 - Well that's the plan guys, so get out there.
**There is a scrape of chairs as Edge, Dynamite, Test & Bull all stand up and leave the room.**
WWF HaRdCoRe TITLE MATCH CRASH (C) Vs. VAMPIRO Vs. MATT HARDY Vs. JEFF HARDY Vs. TEST Vs. SABU Vs. BULL Vs. SCOTT HALL Vs. KEN SHAMROCK Vs. K-KWIK
The first match began when Crash came running out chased by Bull & Test who were armed with chairs to start the match and the fight started.
It wasn't long before the other seven men ran out and the fight really picked up as more chairs, kendo sticks, baking sheets and other HaRdCoRe goodies came into play. Vampiro almost picked up the win after the Nail in the Coffin through the table on Crash. But it was broken up by Bull and Test who put Vampiro down with a double powerbomb......as Crash got back to his feet, he leaned against the ring post but the Hardy Boyz delivered the Poetry in Motion to knock the champion down again. Once more though the fall was broken up this time by Scott Hall.
As everyone piled up in the corner trying to get to Crash, Sabu backed off and set up a chair in the middle of the ring and hit the Triple Jump Moonsault and nailed everyone with it. Sabu pulled Crash into the centre of the ring and got the pin before the other eight men could get their senses back.
Sabu won a 10-man Battle Royal:
x Sabu defeated Crash after the Triple Jump Moonsault in 0:12:30
Rating: ** 1/4
(Sabu won the WWF HaRdCoRe Title.)

WWF LIGHTWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP DYNAMITE (C.) Vs. CHRISTIAN
The second match of the night was another title match which saw Dynamite put the belt on the line against Christian. Christian started with a beutiful series of highflying dropkicks and clotheslines to stun Dynamite.
But it wasn't Christian's night though after MDGroup member, Bull came out and distracted the official as Christian hit the Unprettier onto Dynamite. As Christian got back up again, he noticed what was going on and made a move towards the ref, but Edge came out through the crowd and grabbed his brother from behind with the Edge-A-Matic.
Both men got back to their feet as Bull continued the distraction. But Edge attacked again and Speared Christian down before exiting through the crowd....meanwhile Dynamite had managed to shake the cobwebs out and hit the Diving Headbutt of the toprope.
Dynamite pinned Christian with the Flying Headbutt in 0:12:58. Rating: *** (Dynamite retained the WWF Lightweight Title.)
**Cut to Foley's office, Mick is reading Chyna's autobiography book "If Only They Knew". Billy Gunn and Trish Stratus walk up to him.**
GUNN - FOLEY!
MICK - What is it now?
GUNN - What is it? I'll tell you what, last week I beat Al Snow on RAW and the stipulations of
the match meant that Al Snow's contract would be null and void.
But on SMACKDOWN, he turned up and cost Venis & Saturn, the tag team championships.
How the hell is he still here if he's not under contract!?
MICK - Simple answer, he wouldn't be here if he didn't have a contract.
GUNN - Well arrest him for trespasing then!
MICK - NO, I said he wouldn't be here if he didn't have a contract.....You see he's here so
therefore he must have a contract.
GUNN - But, his contract was torn up. You gave your word.
MICK - His contract was torn up as promised. But you see I never said I would not re-sign him
to a new contract.
That's right, he was fired on Monday and re-hired on Tuesday.
GUNN - You can't do that, the stipulation....
MICK - ..it never said anything about him going for a set period of time. NOW as you're so
bothered about Al, how about I change the next match that I had planned.
Instead of Latino Heat Vs. StratusPhere, it's now going to be YOU and StratusPhere
against Al Snow and Latino Heat.
GUNN - But..
MICK - AND THAT'S FINAL!!!!
**Foley slams the book down onto the desk just missing Billy's hand.**
LATINO HEAT & AL SNOW Vs. STRATUSPHERE & GUNN
The six man match featured the involvement of Chyna and Trish on the outside when Stratus tried to hit Al Snow with the Head. Chyna pulled her off and hit her with the Sleeper Drop. This caused Billy Gunn and StratusPhere to go outside after Chyna.
This in turn lead to Snow and Latino Heat going outside as well and a brawl ensued. As the brawl carried on outside the ring, Al Snow and Gunn returned to the ring and battled it out. Billy Gunn soon fell victim to the Snowplow, but Al wasn't able to get the pin after Saturn pulled him outside. However Guerrero took advantage when he climbed to the top rope and hit the Frog Splash on the still fallen Billy Gunn.
Latino Heat and Al Snow defeated Strat-Ass (Billy Gunn, Saturn and Val Venis) when E. Guerrero pinned Billy Gunn with the Frog Splash in 0:13:03. Rating: ** 1/2

'The Game' TRIPLE H Vs. 'Hbk' SHAWN MICHAELS
Another match between the two former friends and founders of the now defunct Degeneration X.
Triple H and Michaels had an intense match as predicted that saw both men not only come close to winning but close to disqualification as well after HHH introduced a chair into the match. As Earl Hebner tried to get the chair away from HHH, Michaels got up and Superkicked the chair into the face of The Game busting him wide open. Hebner then threatened Michaels with a DQ but he let the match continue anyway.
But HBK picked up the chair again and waited for HHH to get up, but as he went to swing at the Game's head, Earl Hebner grabbed the chair. Michaels stared right at Hebner and then moved for HHH, but as Hebner put the chair outside, HHH hit the low-blow on Michaels. HHH was then able to hit the Pedigree and put Michaels down for the three.
Hunter Hearst Helmsley pinned Shawn Michaels with the Pedigree in 0:13:38. Rating: *** 1/2
**As HHH's music plays, the Game signals to the back as 'Big Sexy' Kevin Nash runs from the backstage area.
Kevin Nash enters the ring and goes for Shawn Michaels. Nash picks up HBK and sets him up for the Jack knife as Triple H watches on.
But Nash doesn't lift HBK up as he sees Triple Syxx running down from the backstage area. Syxx enters the ring but runs right into a Big Boot from Kevin Nash. As Nash sets up Syxx for a Jack knife, HBK springs back up and hits the Chin Music on Triple H.
HHH falls to the outside as Syxx is Jack knifed to the canvas. Kevin Nash turns around but instead of seeing Triple H, he sees HBK who delivers another Superkick that sends Nash to one knee. Triple H has by now managed to get back up and re-enters the ring.
As HBK goes for another Superkick on Nash, Triple H clotheslines him from behind. Nash and HHH then begin to double team Shawn as Triple Syxx struggles to get back up.
Then from out back comes Scott Hall armed with a steel chair, he enters the ring as HHH sets up Syxx for a Pedigree. BUT Hall then nails Kevin Nash in the head with the chair, Nash staggers and turns in shock to his OutKast collegue.
Scott Hall takes advantage with a second chair shot to Nash that finally knocks him down. HHH drops Syxx and exits the ring looking just as shocked as Nash was, at Scott Hall's actions. Scott Hall then helps up Shawn Michaels who is a little confused with what's going on but accepts Hall's assistance. Hall then does the same for Triple Syxx, but Syxx backs away from Hall when he realises who was helping him.
Triple Syxx then looks at Scott Hall and then at Michaels and exits the ring. Shawn then poses for the crowd for a few moments as Scott Hall leaves.**
'Peoples Champ' THE ROCK Vs. 'Crippler' CHRIS BENOIT
A champion verses champion match as IC champ Benoit took on the World champion, the Rock in this bout. Although neither title was on the line, both men were still egar to come out of this one with a win.
Benoit went right to work on the right shoulder of the Rock after the great one missed a corner shoulder barge. As Benoit continued to wear down the shoulder of the Rock, Ken Shamrock walked out and appeared at the top of the ramp. Shamrock seemed interested in the match and watched with great interest.
Despite not getting physically involved in the match, both the Rock and Benoit seemed partial distracted by the appearence of Ken Shamrock. The Rock almost got the win after Benoit turned to complain to the ref about Shamrock. As Benoit turned around he walked right into a Rock Bottom but he managed to block it and turned it into a Crippler Crossface.
Rock managed to escape the hold when he grabbed the ropes but Benoit was unrelenting and kicked the Rock to the outside and followed him. Benoit sent the Rock into the ringsteps and then picked him up again. Benoit tried the move again, this time to a ringpost, but the Rock was able to count and Benoit went spine first into the post. As Benoit staggered forward the Rock hit the Rock Bottom on the outside before managing to roll back into the ring as the referee reached the ten count.
Rocky Maivia defeated Chris Benoit by countout in 0:09:40. Rating: *** 3/4
**We go backstage, to see Michael Cole waiting in the car park as Steve Blackman pulls up.**
COLE - Finally he's here, the Lethal Weapon has arrived just in time for his match.
BLCK - What's this about Cole, I'm running short on time.
COLE - Well just a few questions, the main one has to be WHY? Why did you turn on the MDGroup
just a few weeks after joining them?
BLCK - Why, I'll tell you why. It's because I saw an opportunity last week and I took it. In
the MDGroup, I would never get a shot at the WWF Title as long as Austin was the golden
boy.
COLE - But what about the money?
BLCK - I'll admit that the money was good, it was great to be the Loaded Weapon but as I just
said, the World title means more to me then anything in my life.
COLE - Thank you, Steve Blackman.
**Blackman leaves Michael Cole and exits around a corner.**
COLE - Well back to you JR and the Ki......
**Michael Cole looks in the direction that Blackman left in as we hear a fight going on.**
COLE - Guys, something is going on around here, I'm going to check it out.
**Cole walks around the corner cautiously followed by the cameraman. As we round the corner, we see Steve Blackman laid out in a bloody mess.**
COLE - Oh my god, someone get some EMT's back here. HURRY.
-------------ADVERTISEMENTS-------------
**Mankind Wreck plays as Commissioner Foley walks out to a great ovation.**
MICK - Well, as you all saw moments ago, Steve Blackman has been assulted and won't be able to
compete in tonight's match.
So I have to announce a replacement and it's got to be from the MDGroup.
**Austin's theme plays as he comes out followed by DiBiase, Edge and Dynamite. He has a huge grin on his face and pulls out a microphone.**
3:16 - Congratulations Foley, you finally made the right decsion. So come on announce who it
is.
MICK - OK, the replacement will be EDGE!! The others have already had matches tonight so it's
got to be Edge.
3:16 - What!! But what about me, I've not wrestled tonight.
MICK - Oh yeah, I forgot about you.......Na, I'll stick with Edge.
$TED - That's it, either you put Austin in this match or I'll make sure that you're ruined in
the WWF.
MICK - You try it and I'll fire everyone of you.
$TED - No you won't because you see, they work under a non-authorised release clause. Unless I
agree with any release that you or Shane McMahon make it isn't legal.
So you can't fire anyone under MDGroup contract....but I can!!
MICK - If you fire Edge, he'll still be in the match.
$TED - Oh I'm not firing Edge. I'm firing Steve Blackman, that b@stard screwed us over but now
he's gone from the WWF. You can't re-hire him either because I added that stipulation to
his contract.
MICK - Clever...Very clever, but it's not given Austin a title shot has it. Enough talk, Edge
are you talking this match or not.
EDGE - Am I boss?
$TED - Hmmm.....yeah, ok. Win that title shot for the team.
NO WAY OUT TITLE SHOT - FATAL FOURWAY KURT ANGLE Vs. EDGE Vs. KANE Vs. TAZZ
The final match of the night saw plenty of auction as these four battled it out for the title shot at NO WAY OUT.
The first elimination came after Kurt Angle hit the Olympic Slam on Tazz. But before he could make the cover, Edge pounced with the Edge-a-matic and covered the Olympic Hero to eliminate the favourite in this match. Much to the delight of Ted DiBiase who was watching backstage.
Edge's triumph was short lived though when he was eliminated thanks to a Kane chokeslam and then a T-Bone Tazplex from Tazz.
So we were down to two men and Kane came close to putting Tazz down with another Chokeslam from Hell. But Tazz was able to get the shoulder up at the last second. Kane then continued to work over Tazz before Steve Austin came out armed with a chair.
Austin entered the ring and swung the chair at Kane but Kane knocked the chair away and grabbed him by the throat. Before Kane could deliver the Chokeslam, Tazz jumped up and applied the Tazmission to Kane. Kane tried to fight out of it but soon he was down on the mat and the arm dropped three times meaning Tazz will be going to NO WAY OUT.
x Edge defeated Angle after the Edge-a-matic in 0:07:11
x Tazz defeated Edge after a T-Bone Tazplex in 0:10:17
x Tazz defeated Kane after the Tazmission in 0:15:58
Rating: *** 3/4
(Tazz won the NO WAY OUT title shot)
