Card Information:
 Held in: HARTFORD CIVIC CENTER
Location: HARTFORD, CONNECTICUT, UNITED STATES
Date/Time: January 15/01 at 7:30pm
**Shawn Michaels' music hits as the Heartbreak Kid comes out. He poses and dances for a while
  before speaking.**
HBK - Now last week on Smackdown, the entire world saw me pin the WWF Champion, Steve Austin in
the center of the ring. It was a non-title match but Mick Foley has guarenteed me a shot
      against Austin, right here TONIGHT!!
So Stevo, you've got about two hours to get ready for me to take the belt and when I do,
it'll be me facing Kurt Angle and the Rock at the ROYAL RUMBLE.
**HBK's music hits again but the camera then cuts to the backstage area and the locker room of
the MDGroup. They have just seen HBK on a TV monitor.**
3:16 - This is a disgrace! It was a fluke last week and now I got to face HBK just a week away
from the Pay Per View. I want this match stopped.
$TED - Agreed, Edge get Shane McMahon in here now, we'll get it stopped before you can say
       'blank cheque'.
EDGE - Errrrrr...That could be a problem sir.
$TED - Why?
3:16 - Yeah why?
EDGE - Well, Shane's got the night off and says he's not to be disturbed. He didn't leave a
       number or anything.
3:16 - What the hell? A night off, what the hell's he having a night off for?
EDGE - It's his birthday Steve, he wanted to celebrate it with his family so neither Vince,
Shane or Stephanie are here tonight.
$TED - His birthday, I forgot about that. So we can't stop the match, but I'm sure we can come
       up with another plan.
3:16 - We better, I've held the belt this long and I'll be damned if some poser from San Antonio
       is walking away with it.
**The action ends as the MDGroup begin discussing strategy for the match.**

SCOTT HALL Vs. VAMPIRO
For the third time in sucessive shows, Scott Hall opened up the nights action as he took on the
Dark Angel Vampiro.
Hall seemed uninterested in the match and Vampiro capitalised time and time again before Vamp
put Hall down for the three count with the Nail in the Coffin.
Vampiro pinned Scott Hall with the Nail In the Coffin in 0:15:50.
Rating: * 1/2

WWF LIGHTWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
K-KWIK (C.) Vs. CHRISTIAN
A rematch from last week's Smackdown, as requested by K-Kwik after watching the interference
from that match.
Again the two young superstars delighted the crowds with their high flying moves but again Edge
and Dynamite made an appearance.
This time K-Kwik was ready and hit a baseball slide on Dynamite whilest Christian hit a plancha
on Edge. For some reason though, the referee carried on the match and counted out both men to
award a draw.
K-Kwik drew with Christian via a double countout in 0:10:32.
Rating: ***
(K-Kwik retained the WWF Lightweight Title.)

**Edge and Dynamite enter the ring and begin attacking Christian but K-Kwik pulls Dynamite away
and nails him with a high kick. Then Edge comes over and helps Dynamite by catching K-Kwik
  unaware with the spear.
As K-Kwik is being double teamed this gives Christian time to get up and he puts Dynamite down
with the Impaler. Dynamite and Edge then slide out of the ring and walk backwards up the
ramp as K-Kwik and Christian stand side by side.
The Million Dollar theme starts as Ted DiBiase comes out and waits for Edge & Dynamite to get
  next to him before speaking.**
$TED - K-Kwik, this wasn't nothing to do with you, but now it is so how about on Thursday,
Smackdown, you two take on Edge & Dynamite in tag team action!
CHRS - You want the match, well you've got to agree to a stipulation of mine first. At the ROYAL
RUMBLE, I want to take on Edge and I want it to be us two, one on one. I'll tell you the
type of match on Thursday but do you accept?
EDGE - No...
$TED - YES, my men aren't afraid of anyone. You'll find out on Smackdown and at the Pay Per
View that the MDGroup is unstoppable.
**The Million Dollar theme plays again as DiBiase, Edge & Dynamite leave to a chorus of boos.**

STRATUSPHERE Vs. HELL'S FURY (Kane/T.Syxx)
After the last two shows where Kane was heavily involved in important matches, this seemed like
a step down for him. If it was a step down, he certainly didn't show it, as he used the same high impact that he had
against Chris Benoit.
Syxx was just as impressive as his big red partner though and it wasn't long before Venis was
put down for the three count via a Chokeslam From Hell.
Hell's Fury (Kane and Triple Syxx) defeated StratusPhere when Kane pinned Venis
with the Chokeslam from Hell in 0:13:50.
Rating: *** 3/4

AL SNOW Vs. TEST Vs. CRASH
After his beating at the hands of Tazz last week, Al Snow was still badly bruised but he came
out fighting in this triple threat match.
Test and Crash soon took Al Snow out with a double piledriver and then began attacking each
other on the outside.
BUT as Al Snow re-cooperated on the inside, he didn't spot Billy Gunn come out armed with his
European title belt. He nailed Snow in the back of the head with it and left as quickly as he
had arrived.
The referee who was previously dealing with Test and Crash, looked into the ring just moments
later and saw Snow laid out. He then grabbed a microphone from the time keepers table and
demanded a replay as Test and Crash continued battling.
Surprisingly a replay was shown and the referee ended the match instantly awarding it to Al
Snow on the spot, making him the smartest referee in the history of professional wrestling.
Al Snow defeated Crash and Test when Snow defeated Test by disqualification in
           0:07:25.
Rating: *

**As Snow's music plays, Al takes a microphone from outside and asks for the music to be cut.**
SNOW - Well then, looks like Billy Gunn is still getting involved in my matches so I guess, he
       leaves me no choice.
Billy Gunn, I hearby challenge you to a match at the ROYAL RUMBLE for that European belt
that you obviously don't have any respect for. I may not hail from Europe but I'll bring
respect back to that title that you have distain for.
Gunn, ROYAL RUMBLE, you will lose that belt and Europe will once again have a worthy
       champion.

BULL BUCHANAN Vs. KEN SHAMROCK
Well what can you say about this match? The bell went and Shamrock went right for Bull with a
right handed jab.
The jab connected and Bull fell to the mat seemingly unconcious, Shamrock looked confused and
tentively made the cover, expecting some kind of trick. But he got the three count to the
shock of the crowd.
As soon as the three count was delivered though, Bull got back up looking fine and just walked
to the backstage area.
Ken Shamrock pinned Bull Buchanan after a jab in 0:00:15.
Rating: *

**As 'Shamrocks' theme plays, Ken starts to make his way back to the locker room but he is
stopped in his tracks as Steve Blackman walks out and signals for the music to be cut.**
BLCK - What the hell was that? You pinned Bull with a jab, that's bull$hit. Bull laid down for
       you!
SHAM - I know he did, but I don't know why.
BLCK - I DO! For the last few weeks, the evidence has been mounting. First, I hear Ted DiBiase
talking about a new member of his group called "World's Most Dangerous Man". Then last
week, you allegedly hit me accidently, TWICE! Now this week, you get a match against
Bull and get the pinfall on him after a right hand jab.
I'm disgusted in you Shamrock. You sold out didn't you...DIDN'T YOU!
SHAM - No, how dare you come out here and insult my word. I told you time and time again that I
wasn't a part of that group and it should be enough.
BLCK - I don't trust you anymore Shamrock. So much so that I want you in the ring at the ROYAL
RUMBLE. I will prove to the world that you have sold out to Ted DiBiase if it kills me.
SHAM - You got the damn match. I haven't sold out, but I will defeat you fair and square on
Sunday. Now get outta my way.
**Steve Blackman stands aside and allows Ken Shamrock to walk past. Shamrock leaves to a mixed
reaction and Blackman just looks disappointed and leaves a few seconds later.**

HARDY BOYZ Vs. DUDLEY BOYS
Lita was told to stay away from ringside tonight by the Hardy Boyz and it was a good job that
she did as this match turned into yet another excuss for Team Extreme to destroy another tag
team.
The Hardy Boyz controled what little of the match existed with their usual moves, but the Dudley
Boys got annoyed and soon Tazz and Sabu got involved causing a DQ.
The Hardy Boyz defeated The Dudley Boys when J. Hardy defeated Buh Buh by disqualification in
0:05:41.
Rating: 1/4*

**The Hardy Boys are being attacked by the Dudleys, Sabu and Tazz. The Hardyz are holding them
off as best they can but it's obvious that it's just a matter of time before Team Extreme
  gain control.
Suddenly the arena bursts with cheers as Essa Rios and Eddie Guerrero run out armed with
  chairs.
The Hardyz and Latino Heat then take the fight back to Team Extreme and soon it's Team
Extreme who are in trouble and back out the ring.**
EDDY - Team Extreme, this how you uphold the memory of ECW? By sneak attack and gang assults?
Last week it was us, this week the Hardyz. Well we are not standing for it anymore.
ESSA - We spoke with Mick Foley earlier, and if it's alright with the Hardyz, it'll be us four
against you four at ROYAL RUMBLE.
JEFF - Upholding ECW's name is one thing, but this is another. Latino Heat and the Hardy Boyz
       will stop you on Sunday...
MATT - ...Be there, and why not bring along a few of those damn tables as well.

WWF HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE
STEVE AUSTIN (C) Vs. SHAWN MICHAELS
Shawn got what he wanted and that was a title shot against Steve Austin after he had pinned him
last week on Smackdown.
Shawn Michaels proved he still was a showstopper and WWF Championship material as he took Steve
Austin to his very limit in a classic encounter.
Surprisingly Steve Austin won the match fairly after he caught the Sweet Chin Music and spun
HBK round 360 degrees to hit the Stunner whilst Michaels was disorinatated.
Steve Austin pinned Shawn Michaels with the Sell Out Stunner in 0:15:47.
Rating: *** 1/4
(Steve Austin retained the WWF Heavyweight Title.)
